We named the brand after two guiding ideals. Betty is the eye we use to select bettas — exacting, deliberate, drawn to form and symmetry. Bruce is the sensibility we bring to bucephalandra — patient, grounded, attuned to subtlety. Between them, they represent the standard we hold ourselves to with every specimen and plant that passes through our hands.
We cultivate a limited selection of bucephalandra in-house. But the greater value we offer is access.
Based in Indonesia, we work directly with breeders, growers, and specialist farms — many of whom don't export on their own. Our role is to bridge that gap: to identify exceptional stock, negotiate on behalf of our clients, manage logistics, and handle the quality control that distance normally makes impossible.
